We have this really long family room in our basement. I am almost too embarrassed to show the pictures, but I am only human. This is the room that houses many a nerf war, forts, and lots of movies. My kids love to trash it and so do I, as my shop is just on the other side. Its easy to hide, being in the basement. If we don't want to look at the mess, we just close the door to the stairs. So here is the mess we are currently housing! Brace yourselves, cause it ain't pretty.
I know, it's a complete disaster! Yes, that is a chair that is upside down on the fooseball table. It is my latest craigslist find and the reason for this post. My dear sweet hubby wanted a table and chairs for the basement and I happily found this on craigslist. I am not sure that this is exactly what he had in mind.

| The table is ok, but I know that it will look so much better in and old white. My very good friend Terri suggested that I paint a checker board in the center. I think that is absolutely BRILLIANT!! |

| It looks like there is some water damage, so I feel that painting this puppy will really give it a whole new life. Now for the chairs. I am planning on recovering them and have a couple of fabrics in mind. I just need a little help in picking the best one. Here are two that I have narrowed it down to, the first is my favorite.
