Chair Make Over

Garage sale season is springing into action and I am a happy camper.  I love me some trash-to-treasure finds.   I found the perfect chair for a little make over---check it out!

I started to rip out all the staples and then remembered that I needed the before shot.  After ripping off several layers of fabric and several layers of foam I finally found the original upholstery.   So it appears that this chair once had a cushion seat that it is now missing, but I know a great lady who can conjure up just about anything with a little ingenuity, my Mom!

I painted it a nice blue, then realized the fabric that I had was blue and decided it would be too much blue.  So I painted it white again.  The added bonus to painting the chair blue was that it peaked through when I distressed it.  Sometimes mistakes happen for a reason,  just learn to embrace them.

Here is a picture of my mom working on the chair.  Maybe one day she will let me take a real picture of her.

Here is  a finished picture of the chair. Once again I am not good at documenting, please forgive.

I love the contrast with the chevron pillow!

Here is some of the blue peaking through. Great character

  1. This is fantastic! Where did you get the fabric if I may ask? I love both!! Just an FYI, Photoshop website has a free photo editing software called Phtoshop editor I think. It does a nice job of fixing my"mistakes" also you can look into Picasso editing software as well. I think a lot of people like that too because it is free and it is easy to use.

The chair looks amazing, keep it up girl!

  2. Thanks Kim. yeah, maybe one of these days I will actually take the time to edit my photos before I put them up. At this point I feel like I am doing good to just get them taken! I don't know how everyone does it especially with little ones!

I think one of my fave parts is the blue paint peaking through that you showed the detail of.
