Side table makeover

Sometimes holding onto a project for a really long time pays off!  Well, unless you happen to be married to me.  Then it just becomes another piece of furniture in a crowded chaotic garage.

Last summer, yes it was that long ago, I found this bad boy.

It was a craigslist find and i fell in love with the top!  I know, it is not for everyone.  I thought that it would make an awesome piece to try a little chalk paint on.  I was looking the piece over and discovered that the tray was actually plastic and cracked:( .  I bought it anyway hoping to replace it with some bead board or maybe some cool pressed tin.

The piece sat in my garage for at least 9 months.  I looked at pressed tin and it was at least $25 for a sheet and bead board just seemed to plain.   This piece needed a little more pizazz and sparkle.  After my last rehab, I decided to go for a  mirrored top.  I painted the piece off white, with a little distressing and finished it off with a coat of clear wax.

Here is how it turned out......

I love the french lines and the mirror gives it a little modern edge.  Plus, it goes great with my latest chair make-over.   Super cute don't ya think!
